Get on it..It's a Good Train
In the movie The Italian Job, Lyle, played by Seth Green, says the best line.
Here's how it goes.....
[On a headset cellphone, Lyle calculates the take from the team's robbery.]
Lyle: Thats about 2.7 million dollars...No, wait. that's twenty-seven.. twenty-seven million dollars!
[A brief pause]
Lyle: YEAH! [he realizes everyone in the station is staring at him]... I got.... the Holy Spirit...you should get on it...it's a good train.
Too funny! Although it's another one of those 'feel good about a robbery' movie, what I like about it is the parallel. Sometimes the Holy Spirit calls us to do stuff that is very big or loud for us. Something that we might not ever do or something that is different from what our culture says is the norm.
I was reading in Acts 2 today and I love the line that says "These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning." It goes on to say "In the last days, God says I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy." And finally "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"
Are you prophesying? or seeing visions or dreaming dreams? (depending on your age and sex:)
What are some of the crazy things that the Holy Spirit is calling you to today?
Alanne.
PS An good book on the subject is called 'Nine O'clock in the Morning' by Dennis Bennett. "...you should get on it...it's a good train."
