Being Prepared

Hi Ladies,

1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

So with those verses in mind here's what happened to me this past week. I was asked to make a poster for November 20th National Child Day. (Check back later this week to see the poster!) So I asked my son Gabe to draw me a picture of him holding hands with Kevin and I. He did an amazing job.

I took the poster to Gabe's class to show his teacher. She wisked me into the class and gathered the children around and said in french something like "Ok everyone Mrs Schellenberg is here to talk about something that her and Gabe have worked on so let's give her our attention" and motioned to me. I wasn't quite prepared for that. Honored but not prepared. I described the pictures and explained what National Child Day was about. Ok so that wasn't that bad I thought. Then the teacher spoke addressed me and said "And can you please explain to the class where the name Gabriel came from? I know it's a religious name and I would like you to explain to the class who was Gabriel?" Could I please have a golden opportunity to share the gospel to open hearts, open ears and wide eyes?!!

I shared how Gabriel was an angel and the Christmas story I think I got the Gabriel/Lucifier being a musician mixed up but it was great! A bit nerve racking but good. One of the highlights was one little girl asking well how do you know that angels are real. I said that's where faith comes in, believing in something even though you can't see it. I asked the class if they can see the wind (like Billy Graham shared) no, but you can see the affects of the wind.

Anyhow this whole being prepared in and out of season yah it's a good thing.

So here's are 4 things I suggest for being prepared.

1. Be in the Word (crutial)
2. Put on the Full Armour of God (have you ever thought why they needed to include the word "full")

3. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and let him lead you.

4. Do what you need to to rejuvinate yourself physically.

Blessings as you prepare for the day.

Alanne.
