Doubting or Believing, Both Good?

So I've hear it said that doubt pushes us to believe. Well I'm sure we could argue about that for a while. I'm not sure exactly where I stand so let's not argue let's look at what I read the other day.

John 20: 24-27

What impacted me?
24Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!"But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it." 26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

What are you doubting or believing for? How long does your faith or lack of faith last?

A week would be stretching it for me! "Then he said to Thomas...." Let's insert your name. "Then he said to __________" Put your finger here see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe. In verse 25 Thomas said Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my hand into his side I will not believe it.

How specific are your doubts? What are they?

Jesus invites your doubts, addresses them and allows you to get up close and personal.

My Prayer response to what I read.
Lord thanks for who you are and how much you love us. You are amazing.

What do I (Alanne) need to do in response to this?
Doubt or believe but be real.

Wading in the water with you.

Alanne.

PS You just did a quiet time with me. These are the questions I answer everyday.
