Seeds Part 3
Lets look at the plant cycle and seeds...
The interesting thing is like Pastor Glen shared
things must die in order to live.
I also find it interesting that the Bible references
seeds and fruit when talking about Christ and how His followers.
Galatians 3:16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ."
Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control.Then there is the rule of harvest.
2 Cor 9:6 says "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Here is what Pastor Al Derry shared on seeds. "...everything is a seed.... It's a law of seed time and harvest.... If a farmer has a thousand acres....and they have all this land and all this soil but they only take a cup and sow a cup of seed, well guess what they're going to get? They're just going to get a harvest that's based around the amount of seed that's in that cup. You've need to sow lots of seed in that field..If you ain't got no seed in the ground there's no harvest coming. You can pray, you can fast, you can sing cumbia, you can dance, you can have a jerico march, you can do whatever you want, the bottom line, no seed in the ground there's no harvest coming. It's a law.... And that's why, I think, in these economic times that we're walking through right now, this is the time to be sowing, this is the time to be honoring God with our wealth..... This is not the time to hold back, this is the time to release and see what God will do in your life."

However you do have to be careful with this. There is a whole I'll go even as far as to say religion formed around success and money and how if you sow good you will get rich.
God's gift of salvation is free but we will not get it if we do not accept it. You don't pay for a gift or earn it.
God will also judge our motives. Are our motives to get rich? Or to do good? 1 Cor 4:5
Remember the Bible talking about true riches? Why would it say true riches unless there were a false.
Here was my prayer the other morning. Lord of the harvest, we ask for seed and could you make it "seed" for those of us who are plant illiterite?
Blessings tonight as you sow, reap, bear fruit and even prune or die to self.
Alanne.
