Olympic Athletes

I stand in awe at the dedication of Olympians and dream of being one. I love sports and would have loved the opportunity to be there.

The Olympians are the cream of the crop when it comes to sports. They train hard through blood, sweat, and tears for gold.

I love how the Bible talks sports. It says, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize." 2 Corinthians 9:24

We are to be Olympians!!

It goes on to say, "Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever."

For myself getting up at 6:30 to get ready, exercise and spend time with God is strict training!! My bed is my friend.

But as Philippians 3:14 says, "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

We work better when we have something to work towards / accomplish. It's human nature and God knew it.

What's "strict training" for you? What is your "God sport"? Going to a foreign country to spread the word? Having a "Matthew Party" at your place? Spending time on your knees interceding? And whatever it is you are to do, get a coach. :)

It's always more fun to train with others. Glad we're in this together. Encouraging all "...let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."
