Life Questions

Just reading the Bible book of Jonah. Very interesting. Some of us know the story. After Jonah gets on the boat to run from God the storm comes. Well the sailors/passengers ask some pretty interesting questions. Let's check them out.

Who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? Interesting that they think it's a person responsible for a storm.

Then they ask these questions to Jonah.

What do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?

Talk about a history drill! What does his past or his country have to do with him and this storm? Apparently lots.

What does your history say about you? What does your cultural background say about you?

I'm not saying it should, but it does.

Then the question to end all questions with Jonah.

What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?

Many think the way they choose to live life and the decisions they make don't affect anyone else. Not so in this story and not so in life.

What you do, who you choose to be, what you think even, effects those around you.

We'll look at Jonah again. Stay tuned.

Alanne.
