What's God saying? Part 2

Sometimes we can't hear God. We have a wall in the way, we don't recognize His voice, or He's simply not talking!

God is God and we need to trust that He is sovereign.

Our culture trains us to live for ourselves and that more is better. More money. More treasures. More answers. Pastor Glenn shared that"Compared to 2/3 of the world we are prosperous and victorious." The pure innocent root of wanting more is the desire God has placed in our hearts for heaven.

How do we guarantee we're in? John 3:3 In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. " Not clear? Hard to believe? Read on.

John 3:12I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Once we're saved there are foundational things that God has laid out for us to do. We don't need to wait and we shouldn't.

Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation."

Matthew 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Something to think on. If someone looks at your life, does it make them want to be your disciple?

Mark 16:17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."

We shouldn't ask for more if we are not doing the foundational things that he has laid out.

Here's what is said if we don't do the work that he has laid out.

Jeremiah 48:10a "A curse on him who is lax in doing the LORD's work!"

Luke 12:47-48 (The message) "The servant who knows what his master wants and ignores it, or insolently does whatever he pleases, will be thoroughly thrashed. But if he does a poor job through ignorance, he'll get off with a slap on the hand. Great gifts mean great responsibilities; greater gifts, greater responsibilities!

I'm challenged. Encouraged. Motivated.

I admit it's a challenge to do the Lord's work and not getting earthly wealth for it. Prosperity mentality. :) But then I read this verse.

Ecc 2:24 - 26 "A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment? To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."

So on earth we are to find satisfaction in the work we do for Him and one day we will be rewarded. Lord help me to find solice in that.

Still more questions? Ask God for wisdom.

Blessings as you obey even if you don't hear His voice this moment.

Alanne.
